GUANGZHOU, Guangdong — April 16, 2025 — The China Forest Products Industry Association’s Gum Rosin Branch, together with its members, successfully concluded a promotion event for two new standards: Method for Calculating Carbon Storage in Gum Resin and Guidelines for Carbon Footprint Assessment of Gum Rosin and Turpentine.
These standards mark the first systematic effort within China’s gum rosin industry to establish a carbon footprint evaluation framework. They not only fill a domestic gap but also provide a scientific basis for Chinese gum rosin products to compete globally. By quantifying carbon storage and tracking carbon footprints, the industry can better demonstrate the low-carbon value of its products in the international market and promote green trade.
Under China’s “Dual Carbon” goals, greening and low-carbon development have become irreversible trends in the gum rosin sector. The newly released standards are the result of extensive research and collaboration with industry experts and enterprises. Moving forward, CADENZA CHEMICALS, has pledged to actively promote the widespread application of these standards across the supply chain, supporting the high-quality and sustainable development of China’s gum rosin industry.
